The Louisville football team entered the market for tight ends this weekend, and it may not be finished there.
Sam Snyder, from Fleming Island High School outside Jacksonville, Florida, committed to join the Cardinals’ 2019 recruiting class Friday night.
Snyder had scholarship offers from Wake Forest and Maryland, among others. He’s not rated in the 247sports.com composite rankings but is listed at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds.
Louisville will be active in recruiting tight ends this cycle, and could take one more. The program only has two scholarship tight ends with eligibility beyond 2018 — Jordan Davis and Kemari Averett. The tight end signee in the 2018 recruiting class, Nigel Kilby, didn’t end up joining the team.
Snyder is the seventh prospect to commit to Louisville in the 2019 class, and the second from Florida.
